Delve into our pioneering projects and find out more about our collections as we celebrate and showcase the world-leading scientific research we carry out here at the Museum.
Led by our scientists and covering a broad range of topics, these panel discussions dig deeper into our rich history, pioneering science and compelling collections.
Our scientists will be joined by an exciting line up of external speakers for a series of inspiring conversations that is not to be missed. Whether you want to learn about a new topic, delve into the world of scientific discovery or contribute to the discussion, these talks are perfect for you.
All onsite tickets include a free drink.
Find out about the security measures we have in place.
Member tickets for this event will be available Friday July 31. Non-member tickets will be available Friday 24 August.
Andrea will be joined in conversation by our Director of Research Dr Sandra Knapp and our Library Special Collections Manager Andrea Hart. Together, they’ll uncover the stories behind specimens, archives and voyages that spanned the Antarctic Circle and the South Pacific during Captain Cook’s second expedition. Come to find out how these historic collections continue to inspire new perspectives on science, culture and global history today.
This talk comes at the perfect time, taking place just before the opening of our new Nature and Us Gallery. It offers a rare opportunity to delve deeper into the ideas and research shaping the collections we care for and the ways these influence our interactions with nature.
